Bayfieldsdigital are a family run business and have been trading in East Suffolk for over 30 years.

History

The company was founded by Stephen Bayfield, a former employee of R.E.T.A. Services, Well Close Square, Framlingham (remember them?), back in 1976.  At the time the firm was simply known as 'Stephen Bayfield' and operated from the family home in Broad Road, Wickham Market.  Services offered were electrical contracting, domestic appliance repairs, and TV/radio aerial installations.

The company continued in this vein for around 12 years, with a move during that time to the current family home, in Little Glemham.  However, it very soon became apparent that it was becoming increasingly impractical to operate such a large and busy firm from there, so the decision was taken, in 1988, to purchase a brand new industrial unit, in Wickham Market.  Also, around this time, Stephen's Sons Mat and Chris had finished school, and were considering their career options.  They too have now followed into the family business on a full-time basis, and have been instrumental in expanding Bayfields into new areas of speciality, such as satellite and digital TV and computer sales and support services.

In a further degree of expansion, a second industrial unit was purchased, in 2002, allowing a natural separation of our Electrical Contracting and aerials/satellite/computers businesses, and providing much needed additional work space.  Its was also around this time that Bayfields became a limited company but to this day remains in the hands of the Bayfield family.

A rebranding exercise was undertaken in 2007, for our aerials/satellite/computer services division, which is now trading, as you can see on this site, as Bayfieldsdigital.  It was felt that this was more reflective of the technologies we now specialise in.
